A Prayer on May 24, 2023 (the 15-month anniversary) of the war in Ukraine

God of might and mercy,

For too long the war in Ukraine has gone on.

For too long people have been killed and families have grieved,

For too long people have lived in fear and have fled for their lives,

For too long we and many other people have prayed for this war to end.

God of might and mercy, end this war, we pray.

God of care and compassion,

Look upon those who mourn, that they would find comfort in you.

Look upon those who live in fear, that they would find hope in you.

Look upon those who are separated from family and friends, that they would find a friend in you.

Look upon those who have responsibilities of making decisions in this war, that they would find wisdom in you.

God of care and compassion, end this war, we pray.
